A member asked:

Is there benefit in doing a repeat egd with a gastritis flare up? can you develop h.pylori at a later time if the first egd was negative for it?

Not usually.: Although every situation is different, there is usually not much benefit to repeating an EGD if the cause of the symptoms is erosive gastritis. If H. pylori was not present at the initial endoscopy, it is not likely that it will have developed in the meantime. If a gastric ulcer is present, though, the endoscopy should be repeated. Stick with your medications. Good luck.
