Last yr egd found chronic, h pylori-neg gastritis confined to antrum. since then eliminated all nsaids. no alcohol for 2 years. now stool is fobt+. any idea why the gastritis might be getting worse?

Gastritis: No, have no idea, but do know that you should probably go and be re-examined and have a specific diagnosis established. This cannot be done over the internet. Good luck.

Some thoughts: When NSAIDs, alcohol, and bacteria are ruled out, one starts to look at other possibilities such as an autoimmune origin, parasitic infection, or more serious conditions like HIV/AIDS. Have you had a colonoscopy to rule out Crohn's disease? Crohn's can affect any part of the digestive tract and could cause chronic inflammation.I would seek the advice of a GI specialist and repeat EGD with biopsies
