Chronic gastritis: Lupus is a possibility if no other cause found. It's an autoimmune disorder and there are causes of autoimmune gastritis causing acid producing cells to due resulting in gastric cell lining thinning and atrophy. A biopsy during egd may be helpful to determine the cause of gastritis.
