High expectation: People gain wt over the yrs and want to loose fast and then go back to same rut so stick to it.

Adaptation: Your body wants to survive in times of famine, and can't distinguish between self-induced famine and a true shortage of food. It adapts when you eat fewer calories by lowering the basal metabolic rate, so that you burn fewer calories. Be patient and persistent; eventually your body accepts the "new normal" and the weight will starting coming off again. Daily exercise can help minimize this.
