More exercise: The body shuts down calorie burning during weight loss, and this can result in a plateau. The main mechanism for this appears to be more efficient muscle metabolism that results in fewer calories being burned during movement. The only way to compensate for this is to move more, or eat less. Most people find eating even less too difficult. But it is not too difficult to increase physical activity.
