Balance is key: While peanuts will not raise LDL cholesterol, they are high in omega 6 fatty acids which can increase inflammation. A driver of cardiovascular disease. Better to consume a variety of nuts & seeds (peanuts included) to ensure adequate amounts of omega 3 fatty acids in your diet which are anti-inflammatory: flax seeds, chia seeds, almonds, walnuts, pistachios, pumpkin seeds etc. 1 handful daily.
