Flaxseed: Flax seed is thought to lower LDL cholesterol as well as triglycerides and thus shouldn't elevate your triglycerides. Lowering your intake of carbohydrates and alcohol and increasing your intake of omega3 oils and foods are helpful in lowering triglycerides. Of course medications like tricor (fenofibrate) as well as the vitamin, Niacin are used to lower markedly elevated triglycerides. 182 is a mild elevation.
