5 year old has strep throat and cant get him to take the nasty medicine they prescribed. cefdirin. they refuse to switch why can't he take amoxicillin?

Switch or shot: I see no reason not to switch, and wonder why they would use such a foul tasting and expensive med to start with.If the kid won't take any oral med, a LA Bicillin shot would also work.
