A member asked:

Would a hysterectomy be wise with an ultrasound result (premenopausal) complicated hypoechoic cyst on ovary and endometrial stripe of 12.9 mm?

It depends: It depends on where you are in your menstrual cycle as to whether the 12.9 mm value is abnormal. Moreover, ovarian cysts can be managed with medication as well as overgrown endometria which should be biopsied. Please talk to a GYN MD and obtain a 2nd opinion after an examination or the pertinent data before embarking on a surgical approach.

Probably unwise but: A careful medical history and evaluation of your signs and symptoms by a Gyn (including a better description of the size, vascular pattern, blood flow, Doppler characteristics of the ovarian cyst...) would seem wiser. The 12.9 mm findings of your "premenopausal"endometrial lining would also need to be correlated with the day of your menstrual cycle. It too may be normal and need only a reevaluation
