I have brain fog, and sinus issues. why would a doctor order a brain scan to be done?

To help diagnose: Not sure at what level of diagnosis process are you. According to info at history taking, and neuro- physical exam. length of symptoms, and other signs that may raise an alarm about structural lesions, inflammatory, infectious loci causing your troubles . Ordinarily a sinus XR would be taken prior to the scan, if that's been done and not conclusive abut sinusitis, the scan maybe in order.
