A member asked:

Hi doctors. i had an mri of the brain which noted complete opacification of left frontal sinus. my ent wants me to have a ct scan of the sinuses, no contrast--could you please tell me what the dr is concerned about and what the dr may be looking for?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The CT scan is necessary to carefully evaluate the bony anatomy, to rule out some forms of tumorAnd possibly to assess the best surgical approach. I would proceed with the CT scan as planned. It is probably a chronic fluid collection that needs to be appropriately drained.
