A member asked:

Can the bone fragments that got into the sinus cavity during upper tooth extraction (& doc didn't tell you) lodge in the brain if you blew your nose?

No: Any fragments remaking should be looked at by an oral surgeon for evaluation of removal.

Foreign body: Tooth fragment will act as a foreign body and should be removed by an oral surgeon .Blowing your nose could move it slightly but not into your brain.

No: They may disolve or be disloged when u blow your nose, it is possible they could cause infection and need to be removed by an ear nose and throat specilist.

No: Blowing the nose would only drive a foreign body back into the sinus. Even if there were a fragment in the maxillary sinus none of its walls are in common with the cranium. Most likely a fragment would cause infection in the sinus acting as a foreign body.
