A member asked:

I had a sore throat 2 weeks ago, gp gave me 500mg penicillin 3x day. i felt cured when taking them, now sore throat has come back. what should i do?

Have Strep test done: It is possible your recurrence of a sore throat is due to a viral infection and would only need supportive treatment. However, if your Strep test is positive it could mean a strain resistant to the penicillin group of antibiotics & you would need an alternative.
