Maybe, maybe not: The child's doctor needs more information about the number, size & shape of his Red Blood Cells (RBC's), his iron level, his Total Iron Binding Capacity, his overall health & his growth. The child also needs tests for genetic disorders of hemoglobin, the oxygen-transport protein of RBC's, as Beta-Thalassemia & others are fairly common in the UAE.
