Usually does: They put 2 electrodes on your arm at a known fîxed distance. They then shoot a pulse of elèctricity down the nerve and carefully measure then time. Knowing the precise distance you can calculate the nerve conduction velocity. When you are working on a sensory nerve it can be quite painful.
