Too many questions: to answer completely, so would discuss with the individual ordering the tests first. There are many possible therapies ranging from cervical traction, physical therapy to surgery. The therapy is determined by the MRI findings usually. There are a number of causes too numerous to list. If EMG shows conduction latency then surgery may be indicated. Discuss with your doctor.

Cervical N pinch: Treatment for,cervical,cord,or, neuroforamimal pinch can be treated by manual or machine traction, but if the EMG is,positive, a surgeon is needed to,determine if decompression is needed. The pinch can be due to disc herniation, bone overgrowth, or other space occupying lesion.
