I think...: You are wanting an upper extremity NCV and EMG on the affected side to check for neuropathy. Possible causes are cervical radiculopathy, carpal tunnel, thoracic outlet syndrome and other misc causes for a mononeuropathy. A polyneuropathy would have a much different differential diagnosis.
