Perhaps: Some physicians prefer that you hold blood thinners, such as aspirin, coumadin, warfarin, plavix, aggrenox, & others, or if you take Mestinon (pyridostigmine) for myasthenia gravis, you should check with the office several days ahead of your appointment to be certain. Avoid the use of topical creams and lotions on the day of the test. Prescription and otc pain medicines do not affect the test results.

In some cases: In most cases, you do not need to cease any medications. In some cases, doctors my have you hold on blood thinners (coumadin, lovenox) or antiplatelet agents (aspirin, dipyridamole).
