Not common: That is not a common location for sinus pain - your sinuses are located more towards the front of your face, above the forehead, behind the eyes, along the nose and behind the cheeks. A doctor can examine you to determine if you are having muscle tension pain or pain in the mastoid process or referred pain from the ear, but it is unlikely to be due to your sinuses in the location you describe.
