Dependence.: There can be problems with dependence and possibly tolerance to the effect. See a pain management specialist who emphasizes non-addictive treatment for chronic pain. A second or third opinion with a neurologist, may be helpful as well. Why be on a medicine which would cause withdrawal symptoms, if there is another effective med or treatment available that does not?

Neuropathy: Why you had the fingers amputated? one hand or in both ? Are you a diabetic patient? if so you may take it for life. If not, try to discontinue the medication under medical supervision.. Very slow, you did not mentioned the dose you are taking, this is very important. Are you on other medications ? Do not drop a medication for pain that works well. Se a pain management MD for advise. .
