I have had scoliosis surgery back in 1991, for the past few years i suffer from severe pain in the buttocks. i go for pain mana i take neurontin (gabapentin) 300mg 3x a day and have been getting pain management and neither works

Buttock : Buttock pain is often caused by sacroiliitis. This is common after lumbar fusion. Sacroilitis can be treated by steroid joint injections, burning the nerves over the sacroiliac joint and sacroiliac joint fusion. I would recommend seeing spine surgeon for further treatment in injections and nerve burning has not helped. Good luck!

Sub-subspecialist: You need another evaluation and should someone who sees a lot of pts that have or have been tx'd for scoliosis. Please be as extensive as possible and try to find pts that this doctor may have treated as even docs from great training programs turn out to be awful.
