I might have secondary "nerve pain", after having gallbladder surgery. i am currently taking gabapentin 100 mg three times a day. does the secondary nerve pain ever go away? i am still in pain?

Post cholecystectomy pain may be refractory and following your doc recommendations would be best as multiple therapeutic modalities may be needed in order to control it.

Your gabapentin dose is minimal and would not ordinarily be effective. Since maximal effective dosing is 1,600-1,800 mg daily, would expect increasing dose should be potentially beneficial. Other medications could be considered. Perhaps a pain management specialist could get involved.
