A member asked:

Its been a week since i got my lower wisdom tooth removed. can i eat spicy foods and what are my chances of getting a dry socket?

SpicyFoodOrSpicyLife: By now you should be in the clear. Start slowly and see how it goes. Back off if there's a problem. If it becomes increasingly painful then it may be a 'delayed' dry socket (rare) and you'll need to see your dentist. While waiting take Motrin and swish with milk. By the way, you've listed "gastritis" as a problem. so why the spicy food?
