I removed my right lower wisdom tooth and developed dry socket. the dentist covered the tooth with a foul tasting gel. i feel much better now and the dentist is removing the gel on my tooth tomorrow. can i smoke or have alcohol??

Don't risk it.: You should not smoke or have any alcohol. Both of these cause immune suppression and can interfere with the healing process. I suggest that you stay away from both for at least 2 weeks until the whole area is completely healed.

Smoking: Smoking will irritate the tissues healing in the surgical area. This will delay healing. So you have to make the decision yourself, whether to promote healing by abstaining, or prolong healing with greater complication risks, by indulging.
