Dry socket: Dry sockets usually occur within 2-3 days of an extraction. After 16 days the sockets should have clotted and begun to heal. Unless you are having pain, swelling or drainage from the socket, they are not infected. If you are still having discomfort, you should check back with the surgeon.

Very little: Dry sockets usually occur in the first few days after surgery. If you are concerned, talk your questions over with the Surgeon that removed your wisdom teeth. That's part of his/her post-treatment responsibility.
