Can i get strep throat if i have already been taking amoxicillin and clindomycin for about a week now for something else?

Not likely: Amox is usually effective against strep bacteria. You should be fine as long as you finish your course completely and are not rexposed after you're done. Make sure to wash hands frequently and do not share anything with the infected person.
