Re-check: Strep A is killed easily by the proper dose of Amoxicillin. If the doc did not confirm strep A by test but treated by exam, you may have a viral throat infection that would never be changed with antibiotics. Sometimes a person has both strep A and a virus like mono. A tonsil can also abscess. If you are worse it would be good to have a re-check and sort this out.
