See answer: Costochondritis usually causes pain and tenderness over the anterior (front) ribs near the breast bone. It wouldn't cause pain in the hips. If by "back of ribs" you mean the ribs in the back of your chest coming from your spine, costochondritis doesn't cause pain there either. Tenderness in the hip may be due to a form of tendonitis/bursitis of the hip. See your physician for proper diagnosis.
