Costochondritis: Swelling from costochondritis is always painful. But swelling from tietze's syndrome is painless. Probably you have tietze's syndrome . Discuss with your physician.

Not usually: Costochondritis by definition is a painful inflamation of the area where the ribs connect to your sternum. Rarely is there a lump let along painless. Look for a different reason
