It depends.: Some physicians will prescribe an antibiotic with instructions to wait to see if the symptoms improve or not. If the levaquin (levofloxacin) isn't prescribed by your physician for this infection, it would be best to let your doctor examine you and decide if it is the appropriate antibiotic or necessary. All medications have side effects.
