Nerve stretching.: It most certainly could be related. I don't know what the time frame is, but, the next move might be to have it evaluated or re-evaluated, which ever the case maybe. Possibly a nerve has been stretched and causing your problem.

CRPS/RSD: A very unusual problem after injury, even something as "minor" as an ankle sprain, is a nerve problem called CRPS/RSD. If this is occurring, you should see a doctor immediately to rule it out. A neurologist is probably the best specialist to see, but you can start w/ your PCP.
