Hidradenitis: This could be hidradenitis suppurativa. If you see an Infectious Diseases doctor, probably they can confirm it for you. Often the triggers are stress or hormonal changes. Indeed, not all cases are caused by shaving. (recc clipping hair anyway over shaving). Hope you can get some improvement there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidradenitis_suppurativa
