A member asked:

Dry mouth/bad breath from anti-anxiety meds. tried "dry mouth" toothpaste and mouthwash. lemon water.. gum doesn't work long at all.. no luck. help?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dry mouth: Older (tricylic) antidepressants used for depression and anxiety commonly cause dry mouth. But SSRI, MAOI type medications and most of the short-acting anti-anxiety medications are not known to cause dry mouth/bad breath. Discuss alternate med with prescribing doctor. You may also benefit from a dental exam to make sure there is no other condition causing dry mouth/bad breath. I hope this helps.
