BP variation: it is normal for BP TO VARY 30-40 mm Hg. Is this a new machine? Is heart rate regular? Sit 5 min then take 3 readings 1min apart. Average last 2 that is your reading for that time. Have dr check accuracy of machine.

YES: It sure is! Blood pressure is not a STATIC measurement and it varies from second to second even during SLEEP! "LABILE" blood pressure refers to measurements which swing into abnormal range. Sounds like you need to have a "tune up" by seeing a Health Care Provider with some experience in treating hypertension! The "right" drug(s) will correct this very COMMON situation! Hope this helps!
