BP: You need to rest for 15 min. before checking your BP. That will give you a more accurate reading. Good Luck

New batteries first: You might want to invest in new batteries before you replace the equipment. As the batteries age they may not give accurate readings. Try to repeat the read in an identical position. Laying down on your bed with the monitor at heart level is a good standard, but sitting in a comfortable chair would also do.
