To the E.R.?: The Emergency Room is for emergencies. That means a situation that can lead to bad things or death. So, if one's doctor called to schedule an office appointment a few days from now, one should ask oneself, "Is there an emergency here?" If unsure, then one should call the doctor back and ask, "Do I have an emergency?" If there is an emergency, the doctor will tell the patient to go to the E.R.
