Dysphagia: The swallowing problem may be intermittent esophageal spasm or it could also be achalasia since your endoscopy did not demonstrate any fixed obstruction. This should be discussed with your gastroenterologist or get a second opinion from another gastroenterologist. Calcium blocker medication is often prescribed to treat spasm of the esophagus and achalasia can be operated upon.
