Gastroenterology: You will need an upper endoscopy in order to confirm diagnosis and possibly have an esophageal dilatation if diagnosis confirmed. Talk to your doc if escalating your GERD therapy to a PPI would be appropriate in the interim and in the context of your detailed medical history, current medical conditions and meds and exam.
