A member asked:

Are you supposed to eat solid foods if you have esophagitis? is there a specific diet? my doctors suspects, but we are waiting for tests. gave me no diet instructions. can swallow food, but some liquid comes back up instantly into my throat. scared?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Careful food choices: This could be food allergies. I would be careful with bread and liquids. Some warm liquids may improve passage of food. You should consider chewing all foods thoroughly prior to swallowing. A complete exam by your physician is advised. Prior to your appointment, I would suggest a food diary of food eaten to possibly identify foods that cause your symptoms.
