Cirrhosis : what to take for a fever in a cirrhosis patient depends on the amount of liver function left. This is a discussion that needs to occur with the patient's liver doctor. Herbal supplements and over-the-counter medicines should be avoided unless okayed by the liver specialist. Some patients need to avoid salt and high protein meals, depending on their symptoms. Also no shellfish. Good luck.

Fever : You should contact your fever. Patients with cirrhosis can get sick quickly if the fever is related to a systemic infection. So a good history and exam is needed. In the interim measure your temp and keep a record. Diet is a complex and can't be answered in this format. Seek help for your fever.
