Likely unrelated: It would be unusual for a patient with cirrhosis to have a swallowing problem. It is possible this is related t a primary esophageal problem. Patients with cirrhosis can get enlarged veins in the esophagus known as varices but these rarely if ever cause difficulty swallowing.
