Unfortunately, the leg edema will recur and by time you will need a higher dose in order to control the edema. Restriction in salt and fluid is the mainstay of controlling ascites and leg edema.

Not necessarily. By the time a patient with cirrhosis develops leg swelling the disease is generally far advanced and medication may not control the swelling reliably.
