Probably not: This is a very complicated issue that we don't know the answer to yet. The nodule you describe does not meet the Kim criteria or the Society of American Endocrinologist criteria for FNA. It probably represents either follicular or Hurthle cell neoplasia which cannot be fully evaluated on FNA. Most likely if you have the biopsy, they will then recommend complete surgical excision.
