Further evaluation n: Before jumping to something like that you should be evaluated by a doctor! If it has not gone on for that long it could be something simple like a bladder infection, which can be easily treated by antibiotics. However, the important thing is to first determine why you are having this problem, then the treatment can be determined. 29 year old males do not typically have this problem.

You need to be seen: David, this is very abnormal for a young male and you need to consult a clinician to find the cause. Most likely it can be treated and there would be no need for a catheter. Just to answer your question, though, it is possible to catheterize yourself, but dangerous unless you have been taught how to do it and have the right equipment. So for this, too, you wouldneed to see someone. Good luck!
