NO: You likely have urinary retention from the opiods that you take for pain control.

Both opiates : And regional anesthesia (spinels and epidurals) can cause urinary retention. Discuss with your anesthesiologist and try to minimize the use of opiates. There are non-narcotic options that can be included including local anesthesia at the incision sites, IV acetaminophen, and, at the end of surgery, IV toradol. Good luck.
