About

Bio

Hi! I have practiced family medicine for over 20 years. I went to college at Yale University, and medical school at George Washington. My first daughter was born during internship year, so I got to learn pediatrics at home AND at work! Throughout my career I have taught medical students and residents. I try to incorporate teaching into patient visits as much as possible, to give you the tools to best care for yourself. From simple advice, to opinions on test results, to preparing plans to optimize your health, I enjoy partnering with you to best meet your needs. The most important lesson I have learned is to LISTEN.

Specialties
Doctors may have more than one area of specialty interest. Board certification in a specialty area means the doctor has completed formal training and has practice experience in that specialty, and has passed the certification examination from the corresponding accredited medical specialty board.

Exercise: Exercise early in the day is helpful. Avoiding TV or other screen time in bed is helpful to condition your body to sleep. Avoiding caffeine, decongestants and other stimulants later in the day is helpful. Alcohol makes you sleep but can interfere with staying asleep. Meditation and calm activities in the evening help. Of course avoiding stress is great. Medications are sometimes slightly helpful,
