Not long: Within two weeks you should have your retainers. But to be sure, ask your orthodontist.

Short time: Ask your Orthodontist. He/she's the only one who knows what his lab turn-around time is. Shouldn't be too long, however.

I just got my braces off i just got my braces off last month, and yesterday my little sister broke my retainer.(top) i called my ortho immediately and came in this morning to get the impressions of my teeth and now have to wait 2 weeks for new retainers.
Once I remove the plastic residue from my teeth which wasnt cleaned properly after my braces were removed, will I need a new retainer?Because there could be little gaps in my retainer from where the residual plastic was, and my retainer could loosen?
