Cannot predict: Without seeing the area before and after and the damage done by the abscess it is not possible to say. Are you on antibiotic ? Often this will help the swelling go down. Keep an eye on it as sometimes these do not heal right away and require further drainage. Do not hesitate to contact the Dentist who did the extraction if unsure. Good Luck.
