Hard to say: Are you on antibiotics? Was root canal therapy started on that tooth, or will it be extracted? The incision and drainage removes much of the infection, but the source of the infection will need to be addressed. Speak to your dentist regarding what treatment is proposed.

Some time: When the infection affects the roof of the mouth, it is serious and often takes a long time to go away. Be sure to follow up with your dentist or endodontist (root canal specialist) to have the root canal done. You may need antibiotics. Be sure to be seen this week for follow-up and further treatment.
