How do you train yourself to meditate?

Meditation: Lots of options, from books to videos to classes. select what would be valuable for yourself. I have found classes to be beneficial for folks (experiential learning) supplemented with reading activities and homework. Classes may be offered through wellness centers and recreation classes and offer a social element that reinforces the experience. Links for online resources in comments section.

Meditation has many: physical and psychological benefits. If you have spiritual beliefs they can be enhanced also. Mindfulness meditation is a hot topic in research and therapy today and has no ties to religion. Start w/reading the writing of Jon Kabat-Zinn and view his video clips. Find a meditation teacher that fits your philosophy. If you have a mental illness get screened by a MH professional first. Peace.
